The universe: an enigma.

Some of the most common questions that us as humans ask without getting any kind of reasonable answers has to do with the universe; when was it created? How was it created? Does it have a limit? Is there any kind of life in it beside humans? How is it arranged? These are some of the most common questions that we ask in regards to the universe. The interesting thing is that we can’t know the answer to these questions, and we are not even near to know it. Maybe in the far future scientific discoveries will make us get the answer for these questions but at this time we can’t.

While we can’t get these answers some of the greatest philosophers have started to analyze these enigmas and have profoundly thought on this subject. Some of them have come to the conclusion that the arrangement of the universe is “cosmic” or “chaotic”, others have said that the size of the universe is infinite so it has no end, also some philosophers disagree is the universe is a total thing (seeing it as a whole) while others thing that the word universe is a placeholder for all the parts that the universe is composed of. My conclusion is that all of this ideas are useless, because it will come the time that scientific discoveries will explain all of this, making our old ideas wrong and useless.

  1. Jorge I think that your opinion is very good, its truth that all this questions about the universe cannot be answer at this point of our lives we are not able to have a correct answer for them but as you say maybe in the future someone can get the answer, but for now we use some things to explain what we don’t understand like saying that God was the creator of the world, I think it is a big problem because even though many people believe in that we cannot be sure of it, that’s a big point to talk about.

  2. Yes, that is true. We can not know the answers to these questions, but why shouldn't we make our own ideas of what the Universe really is? Many philosophers, began trying to answers some questions, by their own ideals, and with the use of reasoning. I think we should just believe what we want to, and try to make our ideas stronger by the use of reason, and even though in the future we'll know the answers, I would not sit and wait them, I will live my life.

  3. I agree with you Jorge. We can't know if the universe has a limit, and when and how was it created. We are never going to know it; anyone can prove it. We can't live trying to answer all of these questions; we have to continue with our life. I think the same way as you Jorge; sometime we will have the answers for these questions.

  4. Good blog Jorge, it was nice to know that someone else thinks the universe is infinite, and that we are confronting more mysteries in this small world. It's hard to solve all these mysteries and answer all this questions so that is why i have to agree with you in this entry.

  5. Jorge, I agree with you about being useless to look for arguments or proven experiments because we all know that the technology we have in these days is not enouhg to prove or see how big is the universe, and probably it is infinit and we haven't noticed until we prove our answers
